Mr João Vieira, Director of Human Resourses of Corinthia Hotel Lisbon, was elected ‘Best Team Leader 2019’ by the local organisation Best Team Leaders. More than 300 guests attended the ceremony which took place last December at Casino Estoril, Lisbon.
Best Team Leaders is a Portuguese organisation which was founded in 2012 and has since grown in relevance and credibility. It evaluates the skill and personality of team leaders.
This project was developed by a company named Tema Central, which has been operating in the communications market since 2007, developing editorial products such as magazines, books and websites addressed to managers and organizations leaders.
This time 200 candidates applied for the award and 30 were short-listed. The jury had no doubt in granting the award to Mr João Vieira, for the manner and extent he motivates his team, how he facilitates communication within the team and transmits Corinthia’s vision and philosophy. The jury also evaluated other personal characteristics, such as authenticity, integrity, flexibility, resilience and courage.
The award was presented by Ms Judite Sousa, a well established and highly successful Portuguese journalist who also delivered a speech ‘Intuition and Decision – the two sides of leadership’ for the occasion.
